Pat FarryThe enormous contribution and dedication to rural health in New Zealand   made by the late Dr Pat Farry has been recognised through the establishment of an education trust.

Dr Farry died suddenly while working locum duty in Twizel on October 8, 2009. In memory of his dedication, family and friends have established The Pat Farry Rural Health Education Trust.

Visiting Scholarship

Applications are open for the inaugural Pat Farry Rural Health Education Trust Travelling Scholarship, which will be awarded biannually. The Scholarship is available to any rural health care professional.  Preference will be given to those in the early stages of their career (fewer than 10 years post-graduation) and those who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to working in, or working for, rural communities.
