Rural general practices across Canterbury are coping well in the aftermath of Saturday’s 7.1 magnitude earthquake, with the vast majority in “business as usual mode”.
MIMS has recently moved to a subscription model (based on FTE GPs). In a nutshell this means that all practices paying a PMS license fee (Medtech, Profile for Windows and Houston VIP) will be required to pay a MIMS Integrated subscription by 1 November 2010. GPNZ has brokered a very attractive deal (based on 13.75 cents +GST per enrolled person) which has been extended to members of the Rural General Practice Network.
The NZRGPN team has been in contact with practices and their PHOs to find out what they need and to offer support. We have also been involved in talks regarding the establishment of a national health co-ordination centre to recruit health sector relief staff for the Canterbury region.
